California's COVID-19 Cal/OSHA Emergency Standard Update

Dear Valued Agency Partner,

Please be advised, the message below will be sent to all California policyholders today, Wednesday, January 6, at 2 P.M. (PST). If you have any questions, please reach out to your business development representative or underwriter for assistance.

In an ongoing effort to keep you informed and provide pertinent and timely information on COVID-19, we want to share the latest information regarding California’s COVID-19 emergency regulation that addresses a variety of issues related to COVID-19 infection prevention in the workplace.

Effective November 30, 2020, employers must establish and implement a comprehensive written COVID-19 Prevention Program. This program is similar to California’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) requirements and can be integrated with employers’ existing IIPPs.

The impact of this regulation on California employers is critical. Employers should review their policies and procedures as soon as possible to ensure compliance. We suggest that employers review the regulation and monitor Cal/OSHA for guidance. You may also refer to Cal/OSHA’s FAQs, fact sheet and model COVID-19 prevention program for more information.

We understand it is a challenging time for you. If we can support you in this effort, please contact your Loss Control Consultant or submit your request to cpsafety@copperpoint.com.You may also refer to CopperPoint’s COVID-19 Resource Center.

Thank you for your support and placing your business with CopperPoint.
