Course Expectations

Attendance. Students must attend ALL scheduled course days to receive credit and a passing grade. Students are not allowed to be absent for any unexcused amount of time during the class. A student will be dropped from the class if he/she is not able to comply with this requirement.

Photo ID Check. On the first day of class, you must be prepared to show government issued photo identification. You will enter Zoom through a waiting room, where the instructor and/or facilitator will bring you in one at a time to check your ID. Please be patient.

It is mandatory for you to be at a stationary site. You are not allowed to be in a vehicle, driving and/or talking on your phone while participating during class. You must use a computer or tablet to participate in class. You may not log in from a cell phone. Instructors and facilitators reserve the right to notify the department. If you cannot comply, you will be dropped from the class.

Ensure your computer (laptop, tablet, desktop) has camera capabilities and microphone. Both are required to be turned on throughout the entire course.

All course quizzes will be taken and submitted virtually. Once you begin the virtual quiz, you must submit and complete your answers in the time you are allowed by your course Facilitator. You are not allowed to resubmit or change your answers once each quiz has been submitted. If you need to step away from a quiz at any time, your answers will not be saved and you must start at the beginning of the quiz once more.

Tips for a Successful Virtual Course
- Double check that you received your Zoom calendar invite upon registering. If you did not receive, please click here for support.

Requirements from the OSHA Training Institute for live video conferencing classes:
- Per OSHA’s guidelines for live-online classes, students are required to have video capabilities and must be visible at all times to the instructor and facilitator during the class.
- Students are required to maintain the same level of focus as they would in a traditional classroom setting, refraining from engaging in other activities.
- Breaks will be provided (and a lunchbreak on Thursday, May 1st).
- Unfortunately, if a student cannot comply with these requirements, they will not be able to attend the class. Students are required to attend all days and times in order to receive a course completion student card.
